What difference does that make ? They sell their house to go somewhere with cheaper taxes etc. but......someone is buying their house and they'll pay the taxes. These towns/cities don't care where they get their $ from....they won't miss you at all.

I currently pay $5500 per year property tax, plus $440 per year land-lord license, plus about $1800 per year landlord tax. The new owner will be paying $25,000-$30,000 every year for property tax when I sell it. That's a HUGE gain for the city of Oakland to use to provide free injection kits and tarps for the 'homeless'. |

Again......so what ....the state will get the tax dollars,period no one is going to abandon their home and fall behind in taxes .... again, the cities/towns will just get the $ from other people.
When I sold our primary home up north I had a face to face meeting with the mayor of the town and one of the things I told him is that we were selling because the taxes keep going up and we get nothing for them. I suggested a few options that could help them keep taxes down and then he said he would be sorry to see us go. I looked at him and asked why ? Before he could answer I told him that when I sell the house the new people will pay the taxes so do you really care that we are leaving ? |
