I'm similar. I used to drink a shit load of beer pretty much every day. In 2011, I got diagnosed with diabetes, and had to cut way back. I had cut back further the last couple of years, not because I thought I was drinking too much, but because I am having a harder time keeping my weight down, and being too heavy aggravates my diabetes. I rarely drink anything other than beer.

It's still pretty unusual for me to have zero beer for more than a day or two, it has also been literally years since I have drank enough in one day to feel the slightest bit hung over.

Legal drinking age was 18 back then. I was a big older looking person I had no problem getting served at 16. Drank enough that I was almost a class A drunk by 21. After I got married my drinking was done using common sense, which of course was a lot less that I used to do!

Now much older and hopefully smarter and with certain medical conditions that require legal drugs my drinking is now about 9-10 or so a year. Certain occasions like birthday, anniversary or the wife's and kids. Normally done at a restaurant.

Like m0K I don't drink on school nights.

Unlike m0K it takes more than 3 beers before I pass out.

When it comes to consumables sugar is #1, but drugs and alcohol are a close second.

I drank a lot, A LOT, more in total before 21 than after.
In my youth I was a world champion, at 21 I had to finish school, as the wife-to-be was almost done with RN degree and I was less than half-way, as did not start until I was 20 due to economics, and drinking.

I still enjoy, usually a few beers a few nights a month, bourbon and scotch on occasion, but never to the point I feel like crap.
I remember hangovers, and want to keep them a distant memory.

Drinking is great, a vital part of society, drunken aholes and drunk drivers are not.

Meh - a couple of beers a week except for this time of year when the wife starts in on me about Christmas decorations then the booze starts to flow; I hate putting them up, hate taking them down and storing them, and seems there are more each year...

With no punctuation, your original statement says that you rarely have to keep a straight head. I think you meant just the opposite.

I consider that "type-vomiting".

I used to consume alcohol on a daily basis, but it was mainly because I was struggling with depression. It was my way of coping with the emptiness and lack of pleasure in my life. However, I came across some information about anhedonic depression and the inability to feel pleasure, which shed light on my situation. It made me realize that relying on alcohol wasn't a healthy solution.
If anyone's interested, I stumbled upon this helpful resource on fherehab.com that delves deeper into anhedonic depression and offers insights into finding alternative ways to cope. Understanding the root causes of our struggles can lead to better solutions and a healthier mindset.

Welcome to the VB! Tell us how you first became interested in Corvettes? Any you've owned, or been in your family? Perhaps a specific generation or year you'd LIKE to own?

How do you feel about C-4's?
