Two months? More likely six.

I had one Bimmer; never again. I filled two tables with parts just to get at then change a crankshaft position sensor. Several plastic parts broke during this process. What should have been a simple job took over a week waiting for parts.

I like BMWs, but older normally aspirated versions.. Great drivers.
New ones are very very nice, like yours, but they are just too damn high tech..

If ya aren’t cheap, buy new.

They have a thing called a warranty where they do the work. Ya can even spend more money for an “extended” time warranty

Why even mess with an European car outside warranty, but an older (60’s or older) Alpha, buggati, Rolls, Merc… it becomes a labor of love

I'm a cheap-o then, and choose to keep cars a long time and do my own work. My Porsche is built to be repairable, almost tractor-like compared to a Bimmer.

I prefer older Vettes but newer BMWs…the early ones just aren’t my cup of tea.

I only keep Bimmers until the warranty runs out…because they don’t call it ‘Bust My Wallet’ for nothing.

I was thinking of leasing one, or a Porsche, just so I can let it go, lkinda like an escort, see ya, now go away..
Terrible I know.

Guys, this isn’t my first BMW rodeo, I have had 7 total - all new. Once off warranty, they’re replaced. Since my 2 vettes are older and what I tinker with, I need at least 1 car that needs nothing but gas and tires. German engineering is quirky as you know and therefore can be expensive to repair, but I have had very few issues, and any minor ones have been dealt with under warranty.

Will post pics when I receive it - and, it’s right on schedule. 😎

Not terrible at all…it’s what I do.

There was only one though that I miss terribly, and that was my 135is…very special model, a total blast to drive, and unrefined (compared to other BMW models, that is). The M exhaust note on cold start up was out of this world.

Nice car! My 81 year old FIL drove a '73 2002 for over 20 years and treated himself to a new M240i during the pandemic. Even though he hasn't clocked 10k miles yet, he has the bug and is thinking of trading out to the restyled 2023. My wife and I both told him to go for it, as they still haven't built a coffin with a safe.

Tell him to pull the trigger! You’ll never see a Brinks truck following a hearse.

There is a bump up in power on the newest ones also.
