Anytime you put an inline filter on a line you somewhat restrict the fluid flow. I'd rather have that coolant flowing with no resistance vs filtering it.

And you are missing sway bar bushings. But, those should be installed and torqued to spec with the wheels on the ground like it is now.

The entire suspension is finger tight. Crappy wheels and tires on the car. MYbe he was waiting to mount the new wheels and tires? Also only 3 lug nuts on the wheels, but it only had to be driven into pain booth….

I need to post up pics of all the parts that fell off in the 1200 mile transit from NC to OK. 🙄

I've been to OK, once! Shawnee and the area. Had some relatives there when I was young. One stop sign town, but, went to a few other nearby places. The cemetery had a well pump going full stroke in it!

Shawnee has grown a bit. Still a small town.

OK isn’t bad at all, took getting used to having grown up in MD.

I imagine it was on a lift. He was waiting to get everything installed and the car on the ground on it's weight to keep from binding up the bushings. A-arm, sway bar, etc...all need torqued to spec with the car on the ground (type of wheels does not matter). It could be done now and finished. It will need a 4-wheel alignment prior to driving. And you need to check the rear suspension fastners and I don't see anything supporting the exhaust pipes (hangers, braces, etc)

My house was in White Marsh on the gunpowder river right off the highway - I-95 I think.

Grandparents were in Essex. My BFF lives in Eldersburg, so I visit there often as well.

Spent many weekends on the bay and Ocean City.

Good memories, great food but no way in hell I would want to live there now. Go back to visit family, stuff my face with seafood and come back to OK.

Decided to start piddle farting with some of the vette stuff while I await the insurance adjusters feedback.

Can anyone explain why in the heck they slathered sealer 1/4” thick over the wiper transmission attachments? Good grief. Finally got enough tar like sealer off to remove hardware. DUB did a great job in the wiper cowel area but had not made it to the contents other than the wiper door opener.

Now to determine what color to paint/finish everything. Have seen them in silver and gold. Think I’ll paint the black parts blitz black to match the engine bay I painted (5 years ago).

Here is the after. I’m sure you all know what the before looked like. Click image for larger version

Yeppers pretty sure if not sealed super duper water gets in car even.
Seam sealant is what factory uses and probably what should be used again. Shit is brutal to get off isn't it...
Wire wheel on grinder with safety glasses of course probably easiest way to get all off or maybe a solvent to soften.

Yes, started with sand blasting, then used vibratory tumbler, then resorted to a small flat head to scrape off. What a PITA. Used wire bit on cordless drill to get the rest of the bits off.

Agree, but dear lord was it slopped on in an excessively unattractive manner.

And….. a technique I have no desire to replicate.

So, how do I put all this back in place after I refinish parts and make it look nice and watertight?

This is the end product I visualize: Click image for larger version

I haven't heard blitz black in years!

I never tried it, but heard others say it's a dead ringer for the sheen of some original parts.

No solvent sharp scrapers. A cheap chisel set will give you a nice range then burn then wire wheel.

I would worry first about leaks then pretty. I have seen some use flex seal paste brushed on with a bit of thinner made it pretty but not sure on longevity.

You could probably use a urethane sealant for car windows, no reason wouldn't work I can see and it's black.
The factory just globbed it on and if car leaked during water tests it got more globs.. And repaired that way at dealers.

Yep to get the residue off. Mostly done when you're going to do some welding. Hit it with a torch. Anything else will just smear it around.
