Anybody else into wood plank cooking?
For wood plank cooking I prefer to use my propane Weber e320. Able to control plank burning better.
Nothing like fresh Salmon and Halibut cooked on cedar plank Maple plank pork tenderloin, rubbed in real maple syrup with garlic rocks also Wood plank cooking very simple and quick, just make sure soak plank in water for at least hour, you will enjoy. Google wood plank recipes, all meats and fish can be enjoyed wood planked |

I gook a lot of salmon and king crab legs that way, but I'm also a firm believer in only cooking with charcoal.

I was on a wood plank kick for awhile back when I had a gas grill. It's a great way to get a nice smoky flavor into delicate food. One of my favorite things was, other than really nice fish, king crab legs. They cook up great on a plank. A trick I learned was to use slices of lemon to cover the exposed part of the wood so it didn't burn up on the edges.
My wife was looking for a place we could get cedar planks cheap. She called around and found some guy out in Oregon that said he'd send us some out for $20. OK. Gave him a CC# and a week later a box of planks showed up. About 100. No kidding. That was a pretty good deal I guess. Still have about 40 left. |
