Default Took the kids for a ride along the beach......
Just got new harnesses with leads that clip into the seat belt receiver. The kids loved riding without doors or roof....

What an uplifting post.

I taught dog training for 20 years. The classes ran 10 weeks and the first week was always lecture. Basic shit like building rules, what to expect, what we were going to cover, etc. Part of my lecture was alway about dogs riding in vehicles.

At a minimum they should be belted in like the OP has done. Ideally they should be crated. Letting a 50 pound dog wander in a car is the height of stupidity. Even a 30 mph fender bender will send one flying like a missile.

No negativity from me! My huskies get tethered in the Jeep because if I don't, Loki, the 70 pound male, will want to sit in my lap. And they'll jump out if I take the doors off.

I only tether them when the doors are off. They are very well trained and behave pups. I only do it for their own safety.
