Like him or not, ya gotta admit GSC3 sticks to his story on EVs. He's hard to figure out in several ways though; he'll buy a $100k+ car because it goes fast in a straight line, then put Walmart tires on it. He'll sit in the back row of an el-cheapo airline to travel to save a few bucks. He likes fast food. All while extolling the virtues of expensive Teslas and occasionally reminding us of his high net worth. He's a walking, talking, living, breathing conundrum to figure out.

It also doesn't surprise me in the least that you have no idea why that's hilarious. You understand absolutely nothing whatsoever beyond driving in a straight line.

And you really think that tire will last as long on a 7,000 Cyber"truck" pulling a trailer as it will on an F150?
Again, I don't road race, so I give a flying **** about doing fast corners. The Model X corners just fine at 10 - 15 mph above the posted limit. I have no intention of finding the limits of the car and ending up in a ditch.
While tire wear will be worse on a Cybertruck but not SIGNIFICANTLY worse. Again, my Model Y was at about 40% treadlife at 26500 miles. That's not bad at all.. I would have likely gotten over 45k miles out of a set of tires. That's not bad at all. I did get 30k miles out of my Plaid tires but I did 30 drag strip runs and for most of the life of the tire, I was running factory camber which caused them to wear on the inside. Tread was still like 30% but the inside of the rear tires was worn. Now, with my camber shims, that inside wear should be gone.

A few reasons:

- Constant stop/start driving
- Short trips
- Return to a large terminal at least every night where they can be charged while being loaded
- Jeff Bezos can brag about being "green"

That kind of business model is a perfect fit for EV delivery vans, as opposed to small lawn service companies.

BTW, I'm not a "hater." We seriously considered the electric "Mustang" instead of the Explorer we just bought, but Ford has stopped making them due to lack of demand, which tipped our decision toward the Explorer.
I'd say that sums it up nicely.

The infrastructure of Amazon is maybe just slightly different than plumbers and landscapers.

Amazon delivery drivers make a run to a set location, go back, swap trucks and do it again. They cycle them constantly with an entire section of the business dedicated to logistics and fleet management. There are constant charging cycles and rotations of vehicles (which is why they now deliver overnight). Overnight delivery is not something to make it better for the customer. It's a result of the required charging cycles of the delivery vehicles.

This is in no way a reasonable path for even the biggest landscapers, plumbers, etc.

I save money where it makes no difference. I just bought 4 airline tickets for the Thanksgiving Holiday to Vienna for me, the wife and 2 kids from Florida to Austria to see my parents for $2204. I find deals and safe money. It's with "AIR CANADA", so, not even an cheapo airline. $551 per person.
The tires have all the load and speed ratings required for my car, so they are 100% safe. No reason to pay more.. It's all marketing that says that we should go with the factory tires. 5k miles on the Nexens and they are fantastic so far.

Speaking of Amazon EV's. Most of last Summer all of my Amazon deliveries were done with the new Rivian EV's. Drivers told me they were having issues with a fuse blowing when plugging in, had to wait for the battery and ambient temps to cool down before they could plug in to charge.
I haven't seen a single Amazon Rivian EV deliery van in my hood yet this year, hmmm.

Not quite. The average landscape vehicle from a company that chooses to pay Fleetmatics to monitor their vehicles travels those miles. Whether that is skewed high or low is impossible to tell, but it's a limited sample size most likely skewed toward large companies in large metro areas who drive more miles.

Statistics are fun and helpful - if you understand their limits. This one has huge limits as being representative of the entire lawn care industry.

Don't forget the whole part about spending a $137k car and not caring whatsoever that it falls apart... as long as it keeps driving.

I've been to Vienna several times. Great city! I've always flown Delta in the pointy end of the plane though.

What's the stopping distance on those Walmart bricks compared to the OEM or any other decent tire? How does that tire react when some jackass cuts you off and you have to swerve at 80mph on the highway? There's a hell of a lot more to it than how loud they are and road racing.

You want cheap ass tires? Great. You don't think there's a difference. That doesn't make it so. There is a hell of a lot more to a tire than "rolling resistance". Hope you never have to find out what the differences actually are.

I mentioned the 24/7 MEP service companies. And there’s not a snowballs chance in hell that those companies will buy cyber trucks for their fleet.

For one most of those companies use vans not pickups.

Even at 40k price, your fuel savings will still exceed the difference between the payment on the $40k truck and the $80k truck.
When I look at the LMP trucks, those are all nice, newer Crew Cab trucks. Those don't look like bare bones base trucks.. They have all Crew Cab trucks as it's not just one guy in them. They have one who mows, and the other 2 or 3 use the edgers and trimmers.. I see them mowing arount the property at my employer frequently.
I promise you that they are using lower trim work trucks.

Not seeing a high net worth. I think he said it was about a million bucks total. That's barely middle class.

My parents are aging and my dad will eventually end up in a wheelchair. He is almost 86 and very weak as he does not do any type of exercise. He is losing all his muscles and has a hard time getting up and sitting down. He doesn't exercise because his joints hurt. Other than physical strength, he is healty..
I want to bring my family there so that the kids can see him before he ends up in a wheelchair. Unfortunately, very soon, my 83 year old mom will need a helper to help her with my dad..

At current RE values, i'm at about 1.8M net worth. Net worth is really irrelevant. What really matters is what monthly income my assets produce. I don't really care if my net worth is $500k or $2M. All I care is how much money comes in every month. Rents are going up.

I'm in the same boat. Mailbox money. Just wait until you get to be my age and your properties are paid off and it's just pretty much straight income. You'll be able to buy your own soda company.

Wow, you guys actually admit that there are scenarios which are perfect for electric vehicles?

That might be one of the signs of the Apocalypse!
