monahan will probably not survive this, as many tour players are pissed due to their loyalty was discarded in an agreement that did not include their input, and due to ALL only heard about the deal from the media.

Doubt the PGA players possess the authority to nullify the agreement, but IMO they will oust monahan once the deal is completed.

monahan is a POS, at the very least he could advised the PGA players he was going to present a deal, they could have viewed it, amended it, and voted on it before he had both parties agree to it.

This is an excellent example of a SCREW JOB, he picked the fight, enlisted them, made them tow the line, advised it would be a long fight, but cowered and signed off on an agreement without advising them--steamy smelly HUGELY pile of shit!!

Monahan has already been announced as the CEO of the yet-to-be-named new for profit company so his tenure as PGA Commissioner is ending anyway. He caved for money, just like Mickelson, DeChambeau and the other PGA players who went to LIV for the money.

PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan promised Wednesday that the superstars who rejected offers from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund to remain loyal to the Tour will be compensated in some fashion.
He just doesn’t yet know how.

“Their loyalty will be rewarded,” Monahan said Wednesday in an interview on “Golf Today”.

“I’m going to spend every single waking hour as we move forward here, we finalize this agreement and we move into the future, that the players that have created the PGA Tour, have created this pro-competitive, legacy-driven juggernaut, that have articulated and supported the direction that we’re going on – ultimately, the decision we made, I believe, is going to make it better for all of our players, and loyalty, ultimately, as a leader, always needs to be rewarded.

“How that manifests itself is something I’m going to spend a lot of time working on. And I think when we’re having this conversation down the road, that’s something I look forward to being more specific about.”

'We're Not Going Anywhere': Greg Norman Tells LIV Golf Staff That the League Will Continue

PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan said Tuesday that he didn't see the rival league continuing next year, but Greg Norman gave his team a different update.

Greg Norman so far has not commented publicly but the commissioner of the LIV Golf League had a bullish message for those employed by the company during a conference call on Wednesday morning.

Norman, who was not mentioned in any of the news releases associated with the agreement between the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and Public Investment Fund that was announced Tuesday, told more than 100 people on a 30-minute call that LIV will see no operational changes and that work is already being done on a 2025 schedule.

"The spigot is now wide open for commercial sponsorships, blue-chip companies, TV networks," Norman said according to a person on the call who wished not to be identified.

"LIV is and will continue to be a standalone enterprise. Our business model will not change. We changed history and we're not going anywhere."

LIV's model and even branding is in doubt due to the shocking announcement that the PGA Tour would now partner with the Public Investment Fund—Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund and the financial backer of LIV Golf.

The merger is between the PGA, DP World Tour and the Saudi PIF, not with LIV. Whether the PIF continues to dump money into LIV isn't known. If it pulls the money away LIV dies. I don't see a reason why it would keep dumping money into LIV since it's been a commercial disaster but time will tell.

Monahan will be the CEO of the new for-profit company, and it's likely IMO that he'll resign as PGA Commissioner at that point.

Thanks, and I am with you, if PIF pulls funding and sponsorship liv dies, but based on planning for a 2024 liv season, norman knows more than monahan.
