Btw- it notes a composite pad. It’s a vibration/sound isolation pad. How’s that going to work with your unleveled pad and those spacers you plan to use to level the generator?

Not sure on the weight. But concrete precast. Heavy. And have Hurricane code compliance.
The composite pad gets bolted to the concrete. Rubber shims on the front pads of the unit, or not.

Sorry Yadkin but you are over thinking this.

There are hurricane approved generator pads made of composite materials or plastics.

Personally I like the precast concrete. But I also like the ones made specifically for a particular generator.

Overthinking is what I do. There used to be a popular bumper sticker back in the day: "Question Authority". I do often and I do the math, because math always tells the truth.

For example the cedar siding on my house are actually "engineered" panels. They are 8' long x 8-1/4" tall plywood with clear grain WRC glued on for a 7" reveal. The manufacturer recommends roofing nails on the center of the concealed area, through the substrate into each stud. That didn't look right on my high wind zone project, so I called them and spoke to an application engineer, ax'd the obvious question as to the panel prying out the nail. He said I'd have no problem.

Doing the math, a negative wind load easily pries out any length roofing nail. So my panels are installed with stainless steel deck screws.

The condo buildings nearby, and there are dozens of them, built at the same time and sided with Hariplank clapboards, basically the same geometry as mine, fastened with nails on the concealed top edge, they are on a ten year cycle of replacement.

That’s wonderful.

I still wouldn’t have 1/4” PF slope on a generator pad. Matter of fact if I install one I will have the generator sit on a composite or precast pad. Delivered and installed by the contractor I hire to do the work. And I will make sure that it is level.

Same goes for the AC pad.

I had an owner that was a nut job. He convinced the engineer of record on a home build that the trusses needed scabs (2x4’s) attached to the bottom cords. Even supplied a bolt pattern.

I said nope. And showed the engineer a letter from the truss manufacturer that his recommendation would actually do harm to the trusses. And attaching the scabs would void and warranty.

The engineer didn’t care and the homeowner wanted to proceed to add the scabs. And had the audacity to assume my guys would do the work.

Nope.
