Steven Aghakhani took delivery of his new racing-bred Lamborghini last Thursday after his father surprised him with it at Lamborghini Beverly Hills.

If you think Aghakhani is just some spoiled rich kid who wanted the coolest car Lamborghini currently offers, you're sorely mistaken. According to the Los Angeles Times, the 14-year-old has been racing cars for half his life. He started racing go-karts at age 7, worked his way up to the NASA Pro Series Southern California Regional Championship, and is training to eventually race in the Rolex 24 at Daytona. He also enjoys hitting 200 mph whenever he can.

The new Huracan Super Trofeo Evo was built by Lamborghini Squadra Corse, with help from racing chassis builder Dallara Engineering. It's essentially a new body for the already-potent Huracan Super Trofeo, but the carbon fiber kit improves aerodynamics and adds plenty of downforce.

The Evo is powered by a racing-tuned version of the Huracan's 5.2-liter V-10, pumping out 620-horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. It also includes an X-Trac six-speed sequential transmission, Ohlins dampers, and MOTEC electrical components.

Aghakhani will get some quality seat time in his new Lambo when he takes to the track with his team Steven Racing in the spring.

My youngest is 13 now. I don't remember how much his daycare was, but it wasn't as much what you guys quoted. Then again, it was 12-13 years ago when he started. Yes, it got less over time.

My oldest son went to private school through grade 8, then to high school in a different school district. His primary education cost me well over $120,000.

Cost for daycare can vary depending on where you live (no surprise) but $50 per day per kid seemed to be the going rate when we were looking. Some were more and very few were less. It was painful to write that check every month but, in the long run, a drop in the bucket compared to what either of us leaving the workforce (even temporarily) would cost. That's in addition to tossing all the work and schooling to get to that point.

Private school didn't interest us. Generally, it comes with some religious angle and that is a nonstarter. It's also worth noting that the public schools in this area are very good; vastly better than where I went growing up. When my kids get to high school, they can IB, AP, and Honors to their heart's content. We're fortunate that we have better-than-average schools in a better-than-average district.

Well, here’s a non-bird shot. I traded in my 2012 Tahoe a few weeks ago and scored this 2018 LS. The ‘12 was an LTZ which had just about every option available. To replace it was going to cost me $75k which I’m just not willing to spend. Yeah, black wasn’t my first choice but so it goes.

This model has the 3rd row seats deleted. I never used them and it gives me more room for hauling dogs.
