In NC remember a state rep proposed making a few colleges/Universities tuition free... The schools balked at it saying it'd make their degrees mean less, most were in "underserved" communities (i think that's thd new term we're allowed to use without bans) and they balked at it also so he dropped the plan. Seems a free education wasn't something that interested them.

I'd break a hip getting inline for free college for the kid myself...

I remember my last semester of college costing $360 plus books... that was 1979. My dad said he made too much for federal assistance and not enough to pay for it. I was lucky that I got out without student debt.

Then I'm still stuck with the land yacht.... ugh. When I retire in a few years I'll sell it and buy something to piddle with... maybe a '67 Beetle...

That's about what I remember paying, 500 or so a semester. One book was 150 bucks and parents about stroked out... It was used for several semesters and of course was worth exactly dik when done as theu switched books. I have it in a box somewhere most likely.

Frame on restoration done in 2000, rally red (original color was monza red), matching L46 (350-350hp) engine bored 40 over with roller rockers, roller lifters., 4-speed, power steering installed, no power brakes but have the kit. New calipers, front springs and rear leaf spring, new interior, new windshield and door glass. New carpet and interior. Car was from Connecticut and I tracked down the second owner. Car was hit and early in it's life and a new rear half of a frame was welded on. Looking for mid $30's but I know the market is soft now.
