Sara Burrows and Brad Jordan ran the "Secret Garden of Eden" trio of Airbnbs in Weaverville and use composting toilets in two of the Airbnbs. After renters left the Airbnbs, Burrows would dump the renter's human waste, including waste from a camper used as an Airbnb, "deep in the forest" on her property...

Buncombe County sued Burrows and Jordan for the practice on Feb. 20, as well as suing the couple for lacking permits to construct the homes, failure to follow electrical code and failure to connect the structures to an approved wastewater sewage disposal system. ...

Burrows said she has an "affidavit of revocation of citizenship" in the mail to the U.S. Secretary of State, and told the Citizen Times: "I am no longer a Citizen. I am a sovereign, but I am not a citizen." The affidavit is included in her motion to dismiss.

Burrows said she identified as an "American State National," and not as a "sovereign citizen."

Dude, why did you link a pay site? Wouldn't mind reading, but certainly not enough to pay for it. Can you copy paste?

Context: I've met some of these people in my area. They've been super nice and I've engaged in some lengthy discussions about their position, but their stance is very tough to support. They make claims that the US GOV is not correctly established due to some misinterpretations in the founding documents and that the land does not belong to them (US GOV). It belongs to the states and the citizens residing on it. They are 100% NOT sovereign citizens, in fact they get quite offended if you refer to them as such. But their argument was lost on me as when legally scrutinized, they really had no solid answers, supporting arguments, or PROOF of evidence. Just a lot of unfounded claims and the stance that if you renounce your citizenship, you don't have to pay taxes anymore. Way more to it...but for the sake of reading, I'll leave out the rest.

When I was on it I was able to read the article without having the pay screen show up.
