Dual Computer Monitor Tech Advice Needed

I want to add a second monitor for my security cameras.
There is no HDMI plug on the back of my desktop.
There are, however, HDMI ports on both monitors.
Will I achieve the same result as if I plugged a VGA plug into the desktop, as if I plugged an HDMI cable from one monitor to another?

So then I can just use a USB port on the desktop, (after getting the adapter and plugging the one HDMI end into it), and the other HDMI end to the monitor?

Just add a cheap HDMI multi-port card to the desktop. They are cheap enough at Newegg, Ebay, etc...
