Honestly I think the title is in very bad taste. She is an icon who is struggling greatly and dying. Nothing funny about that.

Soon, all the great founders of modern music will be gone. Go listen to the Best Of Aretha Franklin. She is a master.

Me too I suppose. I just hope they wait until my suffering is over.

There is a good chance I’ll be on this board with you guys when I end up in hospice care. If I let it get that far.

Although if you have a really good headline, I approve.

These blues greats hit me hard. It’s close to home with me. I’m friends with B.B. Kings bassist. And Leonard Cohen’s. I cut my teeth with Pinetop Perkins and Hubert Sumlin. I knew James Cotton late in his life. I’ve toured with Willie “big eyes” Smith and played a single show with a Willie Dixon. I’m developing a friendship with Stevie’s brother and my hero, Delbert McClinton.

Aretha Franklin. Albert Collins. Albert King. Freddy King. Muddy Waters, The Big Bopper. Howlin Wolf (Chester Burnet). B.B. King. T Bone Walker. Little Walter. Professor Longhair. Ray Charles. Stevie Ray Vaughn. James Brown. Et. al.

These people had a PROFOUND effect on me and my life. I’d say they have brought me the most joy in my life and lifted me up too many times to count.

The world becomes a little darker every time we bury one.
