Just found out will be spending a day there next month.

Been? Anything more than the typical eurotouro to be seen?

Alternative is to bus a couple hours into Budapest and back, but I'll already be staying there for the two days after.

I'm familiar with the drinking in that part of Europe, but what if I want to actually be awake still at 1800?

I assume this is for business/job related?

No desire on my part to go over there.

Some people are “oh you just have to go to Europe”. No I don’t. My ancestors worked like hell to get out of that place, why would I want to go back.

I flew literally millions of miles for work. I retired in 2020 and have not stepped foot on a commercial aircraft since.

Why you would not want to see new things is puzzling. I don't "have" to go anywhere. I choose to go where I want now.

My parents loved to travel, loved to move a lot when I was a kid. They travelled even just for day trips, right up until my dad passed. It was always go, go go.

I did NOT inherit that gene. I'd rather be home and have people come and visit me. I have zero desire to travel and when my job requires it, I am miserable the entire time.

Did many trips over there (Army, Federal exec) and no desire to go back, wifey is taking daughter/granddaughter to Paris/London in August - I'll be right here in the US...

I've never been there. I've been to Vienna many times. My favorite city in Europe.

I traveled a great deal on Business for decades. Mainly Asia. Get out and see the world.

Going to Europe is great. It is an educational experience. You go there to see what was and how far they have failed.
Architecture is great though.. Some hard working people have made some amazing structures over there..

Recommend you watch the movie Hostel and Hostel II before going. You may want to change your mind.
