Default Finally: The Republican Adults are Waking Up

Barbara Bush says Sarah Palin was 'beautiful' and hopes she 'stays in Alaska'

Barbara Bush says Sarah Palin was 'beautiful' and hopes she 'stays in Alaska'

Former first lady Barbara Bush has one wish for Sarah Palin: That she stays in Alaska.

Bush made the comments on Larry King Live, where she appeared with her husband, former President George H.W. Bush, in an interview set to air Monday.

When asked by King what her impressions of the former Alaska governor were, Barbara Bush quickly responded, "I sat next to her once. Thought she was beautiful. And I think she's very happy in Alaska, and I hope she'll stay there."

In the excerpt posted on CNN, King laughed, but the video does not show any follow-up question.

The former White House residents also commented on their son’s new book, "Decision Points," which the former President called "good," and also spoke about the Tea Party.

Palin has been the face of the Tea Party and is currently on tour promoting her latest book, "America By Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith and Flag" which takes shots at President Obama and pop culture.

Former President Bush said he wasn't sure what to think of the party.
"Well I don't know what [the Tea Party] really is," the former President said. "Some of the ideas make a lot of sense. But how it fits in, I know it was in the paper today, they were talking about what the Tea Party would do to get the Republicans in Congress to do something. But these people have all been elected, whether they're Tea Partiers or not, so I'm confused by it frankly."

The couple appeared as part of Larry King's long goodbye from his show, which will end in a month.

... again, goes to one of the damndest things the exotix ever saw ... the entire Bush neo-regime debacle who killed off the entire right-wing for decades to come *inveted* the Tea Baggers who both want to destroy govt. for the purpose of privitization (based on Republican/GOP/right-wing ethos of greed ... ) ... where the entire right-wing preys/plays on the American sheeples' pocket book and short attention span as if we haven't learned a damn thing since Reagan to Bush 1 to Enron culminating in the Bush II war-to-prosperity/ruin ...

Old hag Barbara Bush (who stated just before the onset of the Iraq War that her beautiful mind wants nothing to with body bags and death) defending hubby and son by bashing Palin ?
... more bizarre than events since McPalin ...

All the Dems have to do is do what they're doing (as the real constitutionalists) ... keep quiet about all of this and let the right-wing wackos show us how they are *Taking the Country Back* by imploding the party (or whatever they want to call it now ... Mavericks/RINOs/Tea Baggers ? ... anything but Bush neo-wackos ... )

Not at all ... in fact, I can go on all day with examples ... but just for instsance, take the *Tea Party 2nd Amendment Remedies* ...

I'm fascinated that Tea Baggers et al actually believe the Founding Fathers specified that *2nd Amendment Remedies* were to be right-wing prerogative only ...

I did not know the rep were asleep, though I can think of better candiates myself, not one who has decided that being Gov is not important. I like the platform she stands for, just have issues with not finishing the job she was elected to do

I am fascinated that - for the sake of party - (meaning constituents of both parties) that we as Americans defend either side... Since NEITHER side has our best interest at heart. I don't claim to have the answer... What caught my eye was the part about constitutionalism. Pa-lease don't try to say that the Dems are any more, or less, concerned about the Constitution than the GOP.

Frankly I look at the two parties this way...

If you want to keep whatcha got - You are likely a Republican - Conservative...

If you want someone to subsidize a large portion of your existence - you are likely a Democrat - Liberal...

Both are extreme opposites from one another... and while our government feels an obligation to the rest of the world to be philanthropic - at we collective taxpayers expense... Well its not hard to figure out why it is often such a struggle to feed/cloth/and care for our own is it?

But Pa-lease don't reduce the current political climate to some school yard argument over how my party is better than your party because I am in it. Such diversions are why so many Americans are suffering - right now.

Oh, well, starting way back with the pilgrims ... who came here to escape tyranny ... they were essentially *isolationists* merely based on geography (New World) ... although Christopher Columbus was more of an adventurer who jumped on the opportunity to finding a shorter path to the Far East ... that was *radical* ...

It was the Shay Rebellionists who were the first to want *domestic govt or tyranny* out of their lives ... probably because some washingtonian official wrote some *mentally sensitive* dude a ticket for not parking his horse in the *appropriate horse parking spot* in front of the taveran ...

It has nothing to with (R) or (D) ... it has everything to with *what makes one an (R) or (D)* ... the Tea Party/Baggers are easy to figure out ... it doesn't have to make one iota of sense to subscribe to it ... the *freedom* is to make up anything you want and call it *truth & fact* and thus a *new movement* ... just like the 60's protestors from war to bra burning ... remember when they were *radicals* ?

You know your vision better than I do.

That's the root of most debates ... both parties see reality differently.

and I have no problem with that.

You are jumping all over the place here... While it is quaint to talk about Pilgrims, (since this is Thanksgiving week) and Chris Columbus did ride a boat over here - for discovery - vice colonization... I guess what you are really saying is that for time immemorial we as American's have always been disgruntled at the mere notion of government - when it's intrusive. In light of that argument - I agree with you.

*Govt. intrusiveness* only became *chic* on Nov. 4, 2008 ... otherwise it's been A-Ok only when Republicans are in the highest office in the land ...

Prior to March 23, 2010 I was free to buy health insurance with no penalities if I did not, oh this will be inforced starting in 2014, this is Govt intrusiveness to the extreme, no more freedom on my insurance needs, it will have to meet what the Govt wants or a fine (tax).

BTW I am taxed enought already, seems our country started over a Tea Tax

Oh good God...who gives a damn what the First Lady says? All of them should STFU because there hasn't been one worth listening to since Eleanor Roosevelt.

Don't want to be flippant - so I won't, but There is a reason it became :chic" (in early Feb 2009) - when a few folks woke up a few days after the inauguration, to find what people were saying all through 2008 had come true: that a Marxist had unrolled his sleeping bag in the White House.

People may have been disgruntled when GW was in the White House. But at least when we stuck our hands in our pockets - we didn't find BHO had already been there. Dang - I just stuck my hand in my pocket and it happened again. Can't imagine what I'll find in 2014 and strangely enough this morning - Either Can You.

But you do know one thing: That whatever comes out of your pocket FOR Your Behalf - will be magnified a million times over from the pockets of others - so you can have it.

Not since the old west have we seen a cattle drive like the one on main street in 2010. Just keep following the wagging tail in front of you - someone else it minding the store - and they are doing it for your best interests... BELIEVE in the Hope and Change the kool-aid makes it easy..

Looks like hanging on to the Good-Old-Days is “chic” also …

The Dinosaurs tried and failed … they are now Fossil Fuel.

Anger and Bitterness are futile emotions.
