Default Poor kitty
Our cat started acting strange last night late, into the morning.
He kept licking his mouth and trying to swallow. Refused food like he couldn't eat it. Almost looked like when he is trying to vomit. My wife said she saw blood around his mouth. I got close for a look, but the little guy wouldn't cooperate.
I smelled the unmistakeable odor of infection. Think maybe he has a draining abscess. Made an appt for the vet to see him this morning.
Ironic that my cat may need vet dentistry. Hoping they can get him well quickly.

Our usual vet says dislocated jaw. She sent me to the regional emergency center for further eval and tx. Waiting for more info...

First eval at the emergency hospital, he has a back tooth that is laying sideways and may be keeping him from closing. Doc thinks that may be all. They are sedating him for the extraction. Waiting...

Had to have a tooth, that had gone bad and was lying on its side, preventing the cat from closing his mouth, extracted. He did well, and is now back home. He ate like a starving Armenian, and is charging around as normal.

I'm taking 2 kittens to the vet Monday after next for spaying that I can't afford. I can't imagine having to pay $380 for emergency surgery, but I would find a way if one of mine needed it.
