It's getting real, Sienna plantation is under a mandatory evacuation I took in a friend and his family wife and 2 girls. We aren't currently under threat of flood, but if the forecasts hold true the water will be right up to our neighborhood. I'll be moving valuables and such upstairs today.

This whole thing kinda reminds me of the volcano movie set in LA. What stops lava? What the heck can stop the rain? It just won't quit.

That's good. Flooding is like being pregnant. Either you flooded or you didn't. Whether it's 2 inches or 6 feet, it's pretty much the same level (no pun intended) of hassle.

Amazing the inertia water has, takes a build up super high to get it moving, but eventually it will get to moving and when it DOES......

just talked to my sister in Katy, her house is still high and dry (except for the roof leak), power on, wifi on, AC on, food in hand for herself/hubby and pugs. all things to be thankful for.

but she has been talking online and via phone with friends and co-workers, and some are in pretty tough shape. flooded homes, flooded cars.

and it's her birthday today. she said she's postponing that to next week.

she sounded very, very tired.
