Most of the sheathing is done, just have the back wall to finish, then the roof! Gonna be fun hoisting the pony wall up top

You are doing a great job there! Only thing Im not a fan of is the exposed cement blocks. I would have found a way to put a facade and possibly used smaller blocks. Would give it a more permanent look....

Thanks And I hear ya on the blocks. Not exactly pretty, and I may end up doing something to cover them, but for now I'm more concerned with getting all the yard shit and miscellaneous crap in my garage into it's new home and out of my way

Paint the blocks black (actually Sherwin Williams "peppercorn gray" is the perfect color) and run lattice around the bottom. I'd use the PVC type since you are going with vinyl siding.

Looks good and keeps some of the larger critters from making their home under there.

That's too funny, I actually am thinking of both of those ideas!

I've done it 100 times...hell, maybe 1,000 times.

Use the peppercorn gray not black. Something about that color is just right.

That color closely matches the color of the house

If you have a lot of rodents around, and a cat or two, leave a hole big enough in the back for a cat to get in and out.

I cannot live around here for long without a cat, and I haven't had one for two months. I will be getting a kitten here in the next few weeks.

Haven't seen any signs of rodents yet, but the house is only 10 months old. I have an open bag of sunflower seed for the bird feeders in my garage that hasn't been touched, and have kept birdseed in the garage since I've been here. Time will tell for sure though, and I do have a cat

I am far from a cat fan....BUT....when I had my farm in Tennessee, I adopted a male and a female cat from the local pound promising to spay them and their litter (which I did as promised) once they were born in my horse barn so they would know that's their home. They did a great job too. But after a about 6 years I guess the coyotes got them because I started out with about 8 and then there were none.... But they did a great job of hunting during that time....

Shit, you're a washed up cop, retirement doesn't seem to be going so well.

Headed out now with my lovely wife to have some sushi, have fun with your old dried up raisin bags.
