NO SIR. My personal beliefs of free speech do not put me in a position of authority here on this forum. As stated, STS was pushing the envelope and he got called on it. I will miss him, but realize others do not enjoy watching a train wreck or a firework explode or a lightning storm like I do.

He didn't get banned. Most of us who are fairly actively simply put him on double secret ignore with the help of admins.

I sure as hell didn't get him banned. I simply stopped going into any threads he started and didn't respond to any posts he made in the others. It was working out fine.

I admit I complained to a mod about one of his posts directed at another member that was VERY offensive. I don't think I've ever complained like that before (I could be forgetting something from long ago, not 100%). From the responses here, I am guessing mine was not the only complaint lodged, and we're a pretty tolerant bunch here, all things considered.

Combine that with the revelation that the same guy was booted here multiple times before (something demonstrably very difficult to do as a poster), and then ask, what's the point of a punitive temporary ban? Same guy returns over and over and keeps getting singled out for booting. Bad luck?
