Some people buy the higher end no matter what. Some people want the status. Some people want to brag about it. Some people don't know any better. MOST of the higher end models have different appearance add-ons, different interior packages, differences other than a simple number. Go back and look through this thread for the other dozen times that I and others have answered this stupid ass question if you need more than that.

I bought an S6 over an A6. The horsepower difference was about 10th on the list of why... and I guarantee that an overwhelming majority of people who do buy the higher versions of vehicles also have the basic critical thinking skills required to understand something beyond a singular number on a spec sheet.

A Z06 is not in the same class as a regular C8 just like a Plaid is not in the same class as a Long Range. Reason really is irrelevant.
You try to present it as if they are all in the same class but they aren't.
It doesn't matter if someone gets a Plaid or a Z06 for prestige or for more horsepower. What matters is that they are not in the same class.

If they are the same class, a URUS is in the same class as a RAV V or a CR-V

With that said, a supercar is:

1) very limited production
2) sometimes has a waiting list
3) is $300+K
4) have a VERY steep appreciation curve

While I do not consider the C8Z, or the one day soon to be released C8ZR1, to be supercars, I will state they offer unmatched value, and will embarrass many cars on road courses they cost 3X more.

So apparently Wikipedia is the definitive source....for you.

I remember in 1990 when the Acura NSX was billed as a supercar. Because at the time, it was. An '08-up Mustang or Camaro or 4 door Charger or Jeep could blow it's doors off now. It's all relative.
I personally think that the C8 is a low-buck supercar, not as exotic as the cars that cost 3 to 30 times more, but a solid value, as Fugly as it is.
Kind of like the 1964 Pontiac GTO, which at $2500, could beat the $14,000 Ferrari GTO on the strip and was only about a half second slower on the road course. The cheap super performing car for the Everyman.
Now that '64 Pontiac GTO is an $80,000 car. And that Ferarri GTO is about $50,000,000 on up.

The entire EV industry is getting torn apart from the inside because the market, and the manufacturers have now learned extremely powerful lessons. Build what the market wants, not what the green douchbags say you should build. Most predictable failure of all time.
