Similar situation wit my SIL and my niece. Thankfully, her daughter still has her dad around to raise her, as well as my SIL being a really good grandmother. Nothing gets "realer" than seeing your niece's mugshot in the local newspaper... Your doing the right thing by stepping in. Good job!

You all are doing the right thing. Whatever choices your daughter makes moving forward is on her, not you.
