Thanks, Raazor. Good to know that his kitties are getting a good home.
Not having a will is tough. Sounds like his friends have their work cut out for them with trying to handle his affairs. Hopefully, they're able to reach the cousin, so things can be resolved in a timely manner. His friends have got to be frustrated, wanting to honor him with as much love and dignity as possible, while having their hands tied with regards to actually being able to carry it out. Im sure they'd rather make the arrangements, as opposed to letting the state/government handle it. I wonder if they've reached out to Nannette at all...??? It seems like she would be able to help out. I realize that they weren't married. However, she may be able to give them some additional insight, in terms of what his last wishes may have been, as well as any other family that he may have. |

The pension comment was in reply to me asking if it could be used for his funeral arrangements as there's no money to do anything decent. Another email mentioned a go-fund-me account but there was reservations due to the hate against the website. My suggestion is to to do just do it so he can be laid to rest, peacefully and with finality.

I have to admit, it won't seem the same around here without his posts. For those of you that knew Blown87 from CF, he was a great dude. We talked mechanic stuff on the phone from time to time, and I enjoyed his Porsche 928 quests. He was a master mechanic, and an all around good dude. Still tough to think about his loss. Hell, I know this is just an internet forum, but you really get to know people here. It just goes to show how fleeting life can be.

A Message about The Cripp - Please Read...
Hello fellow VB Forum Members – My name is Jack aka “Vetfever” .
I just found out about the VBF - did not know The Cripp was known here. I am a friend of Bill's, and I have started a memorial fund for Bill at the National Corvette Museum. I have raised approx $2,000 towards a $2,500 goal to purchase a 24x24 inch “brick” at the National Corvette Museum. This brick will be engraved with details about Bill. As you probably know, Bill was pretty much wheelchair bound, therefore he spent a lot of time on-line. The Internet was a blessing for Bill, and being a total gear-head and Corvette lover, he thought of those in Forums as his on-line family. I got to know and become close friends with Bill since 2008 and took him out for rides in my 2006 coupe or 1975 Vert. He loved going for cruises ending with a burger and fries stop on the way home. I know that I am a lucky guy being able to own 2 corvettes, but more so that I was able to have Bill as my friend. I will “cut to the chase” in my message to you. I have exhausted fund raising methods locally here in Toronto. I am running out of ways to raise funds towards the goal, hence my reaching out to you here. I believe Bill deserves recognition at the NCM. Here’s why: This brick will serve as Bill’s monument or headstone. Bill had no family – as in zero. He lived on a disability pension and had few material possessions in this world. His final arrangements were handled by Canadian Social Services and his body was cremated – we have his ashes. So a brick at the NCM would be an awesome way to remember him. I am hoping to visit the NCM next spring or summer and sprinkle few of his ashes on the brick – it would be a fine way to close this memorial drive. As I said, an NCM brick is $2,500 and I have $500 to go. If you think that a small donation such as $5 is too small, you’d be wrong - every dollar counts, so please donate what you can afford. Thank You!! The easiest way to donate is to just call Becky Madison, Membership and Brick Coordinator at the NCM. It's toll free @ 1-800-538-3883 Ext 136. You can donate this way with your credit card. You can also mail checks to: National Corvette Museum Attn: Becky Madison 350 Corvette Drive Bowling Green, KY 42101 Please note that you should call Becky on regular week days - Monday to Friday between 8am-5pm CST. BE SURE TO SAY YOU ARE DONATING FOR THE BILL MASON MEMORIAL FUND - IF MAILING A CHECK INCLUDE A NOTE THAT IT'S FOR BILL. |

Cripp was a good dude. I miss him too. I did my part, albeit small, toward the NCM memorial. He would have loved that. Thank you, Jack, for honoring him this way.
