Even my little Florida town of Oakland has its own water tank similar to the pictures above.

Thanks,
I looked at and spoke with them 2 issues: it is supposed to be a DIY, but I'm not keen DIY with electricity at the volt/amps involved. and cost of system, on top of getting well dug I may eventually I may go that route down the road, but for now I'm going to use a generator I already have. |

Can you have a shipping container there? I have used them for secure storage and put the caged tanks on top of them for water pressure when I first buy vacant land.

What's truly amazing is you thinking that a municipal water tower is the same as a 500 gallon tank for personal use. A water tower like that has a near constant demand, recirculation when demand is low, and constant monitoring of chlorine residual.

OP, you need Yadkin to straighten you out. If you actually hire him for a modest fee, you won't regret it. He's a Civil Engineer and knows this stuff inside and out.

Also, retained knowledge that one learned before Algore invented the internet is worthless. If you don't have a Google link then you're a freaking idiot. |

What was the quote for the RPS solar pump system? $3,000 ? If a tank runs you $1,000 you are half way there for solar and a cleaner setup with fresh water. Seems easier than messing with a large tank.
Looks like the main problem with solar is nighttime. That may make your tank solution more desirable. |

The issue is shipping/ transportation out to the 40 acres, same issue as my original question. This is not a big deal, I just wanted to know if I was overlooking a cheaper option |

I would want the storage tank either way, and I still have to get the well drilled, RPS does not drill wells

True, but I'm going with the lower cost version right now
maybe in the future if this is not suitable and as I mentioned earlier, RPS does not drill wells, nor do they hook up the electrical. at 11.5 amps and 220 volts, I'm not willing to play with it. In the future maybe I'll get an electrician to look at it and give me an estimate |

I know what you are dealing with I have done it many times. Well drillers want to give you a turn key price with them providing everything so they can maximize their profits. But most don't do solar or windmill. I have done both solar is DC current and easier than you think and with a backup battery no storage needed. I just find one that will drill and case the well. It is not always easy to find one to do it because they think you are trying to screw them. I just tell them what I am doing and offer them the job. They run away once they figure out they are responsible to stick a half a ton on a pin 30 to 40 feet in the air.But there are ones out there that will just punch a hole for you if you try hard enough.
