Eagles. I don't care if you get one on a par 3, a par 4, or a par 5, eagles are just plain fun to get. I have a row of golf balls on one of my fireplace mantles that are from all the eagles I've gotten over the years, including the hole-in-one I got on the second hole on December 10, 2021.

I don't disagree, despite my earlier post.

Upside: Being retired is okay, although I didn't like it the first couple years. After a lifetime of frugality, I enjoy spending money now.

Downside: Health problems, chronic or acute. When they're acute, any upsides of being old don't matter.

The grandkids always make me smile but I think most of everything I'm happy to know God. Without that NDE 50 years ago my life would have been so different the grandkids probably wouldn't even exist.

I only have three eagles in life (hole-out on par 4, two long putts on par 5s), no holes-in-one.

BUT I have broken at least five windows and dozens of roofing tiles.

I also ran into a dood in our foursome that was pulling his driver out of the bag.
My foot slid of brake and hit the gas, he finished the round but had one helluva a limp.
I bought him a beer at the 19th and never heard from his attorney.
