The other night I got maybe 2 hours at home and another 1 on a train into the cube farm, put in 9 hours, didn’t sleep on the way home, maybe got four hours that nite, teleworked the next day (no commute).

I try not to keep track or look at a clock. I know it ain’t enough, probably contributes to the already existing brain retardation. Whatcha gun do. I’am a high-functioning weirdo.

I'm on every drug known to mankind, and that gets me 6 hours on a good night. In recent months I've been falling asleep fine, which used to be my problem, but now I'm waking up 3-4 hours later and can't get back to sleep most of the time.

Half of the problem is being retired, and the other half is not having a woman in my life.

I typically sleep 4hrs per night, 5 if I'm lucky.

I have sleeping pills prescribed to me but I rarely ever take them. 30 days prescription usually lasts me ~13mos.

Throw that shit out. Drugs are for pain or pleasure. Get the sleep you think your body needs and do your thing. 4 hours is plenty if your body thinks it’s plenty. Mind over matter or basic human physiology.

Even with the pill I'm looking at 4-5hrs. 6hrs if I take a full one.

I get frustrated because I know I have to function the next day. When I retire my concerns will be improving my awful guitar playing, throwing what little money I have into a lowly c4, building cheap plastic model kits, playing with little ones, and surveying my vast empire. It’s gonna be great!

I’ll take a nap around 10 am and wake up around 1. Get morning and afternoon naps done in one and crash for the evening whenever I want. Nobody will care when I wake up or anything else about me. This is what “me time” means. Pictures at 11.

Any job should require a certain amount of sleep to function effectively. I have melatonin but don’t know why, no scrips. They get what they get from me and that’s usually more than enough. I work for the government.

I've been on nightly Ambien for 20 years, melatonin for 6. Not sure if either actually works, but the reverse placebo effect makes me paranoid if I don't take them every night.

If I can't get to sleep (mind racing) I have a 'script for Xanax to take with Ambien for that purpose, and it works well, although in recent months that hasn't been a problem; staying asleep long enough is now the problem and Xanax won't help with that.

I also have OTC diphenhydramine and doxylamine (antihistamines) that will knock you out, well into the next day if you're not used to them. But if you take them too often they don't work so well. If I get 2-3 nights with only 3-4 hours sleep each night I take them the next night (along with Ambien and melatonin of course) and I can usually get around 7 hours of sleep. Although they're not working so good lately cuz I've been taking them too much.

I've tried all the herbs, they're no help.

So it's all just a lot of fun. I doze off in my recliner a lot in the morning and evenings, and that's a tell-tale sign that one is not getting enough sleep. Aside from that, my biggest problem is finding enough things to spend money on.
