This should be a warning to us, if Duke gets their way we'll be paying some of the highest rates in the country. They had already stated in 3 years (next rate increase) that rates will double or triple. I'd bet they push for it sooner with some bullshit add-ons to bills again. We already pay a grid access fee(I'm on a co-op but Duke provides the power so subject to their bullshit).
Not not a fan of solar overall due to companies coming and going and getting stuck with a junk system and we don't have enough sustained winds for wind power. However I do believe this will accelerate my looking for an alternative. I couldn't afford a 6 or 800 dollar electric bill especially in the coming years.
It may become a generator issue for me if fuel is cheap enough, split between that and the grid.
We don't have NG here unfortunately...

I filled out a questionnaire yesterday sent from Duke Energy asking for ratings on different topics. I rated them low and said "what choice do I have where I purchase my energy from"? I also said that they should reduce our rates and pay themselves for the coal ash cleanup problem and not push it on to their customers.

I'm in Virginia and while I haven't heard about any wind, we are expected to get significant rainfall. I'm going to let some more water out of my pool as 2" of rain will put it right back up to the tile line.

I've been off for the last two days and won't go back to work till after the first of the year so I've been posting items for sale on FB market place which I've had success on last year. So, this year's scam is for the buyer to ask for your Venmo account, and you'll get a message saying that they are sending it from a business account and the minimum is $500 so they say they'll pay you the $500 if you'll send them back the difference. I had a person last night say that she lived local but I pulled up her profile I saw she was from Turkey...and her English wasn't good... a couple of dead give aways.

Starlink up and running, took 30 to 60 minutes for it to be completely working properly.
Quick speed test with just sitting on the ground showed 85mb download speed.
Fired every net device i have up and have playing an online movie or game, so far so good.
I'll need to mount it to building soon however.
