It is not the actual fines that I GAS about. It is the controlling of information, opinion, and expression.

Then why are you still using unencrypted SMS? As you note, the NSA has been monitoring all unencrypted communications for years. Why haven't you moved on to Signal or some other end-to-end encrypted messaging method?

And if you're not using SMS, then why do you GAS?

Because I don't send hate texts or hate mail.

Is it really hard to grasp that I think a government action should not be allowed, even though I have no involvement in that action?

I don't think the government of California should have stopped rainwater collection. I didn't live in California when it was illegal, and I don't collect rainwater. See?

That's all well and good, but you're naive to think that you can stop it just by complaining.

I should be able to drive my car down to a 7-Eleven in Compton and run inside for a Slurpee while leaving my keys in the ignition and the engine running and walk out to find my car still there where I left it. After all, theft is wrong. But none of that stops me from seeing the reality of the situation and acting accordingly.

You do know authorities use such apps to catch law breakers? The encryption is their code. The bad guys incriminate themselves thinking their communications are safe and whole international organizations are being caught
