Seriously. I LOVE those!

Hey, at Hard 8, they have something they call chicken poppers, I think. They are chicken bites and jalapenos wrapped in bacon and grilled. YUMMMM!!!

I've had some mixed results with them. Sometimes you get a hot one, and it's damn good. Other times it's like eating a green pepper with cream cheese.

That's because you're doing it wrong. ABT's are supposed to be filled with a mixture of cream cheese, finely chopped onion, shredded smoked pork or brisket, stuff like that. Then you wrap them in bacon and SMOKE THEM on a SMOKER until they are SMOKEY and good.

Feel free to check in for other things you're doing wrong, I'm here to help.

Also, when I make mine, I cut the jap in half, scoop out the seeds, stuff it, and put it back together prior to wrapping with a slice of thin-cut bacon. Then I sprinkle it with dry rub seasoning all over and put on the smoker until the bacon is crisp and done. Fork and knife on a plate at that point, unless you don't value the skin on the roof of your mouth.

Back to the OP, I like to make a batch of chili and let it simmer during the first game, and eat it during the second game. Or maybe put something on the smoker in the morning like pork ribs. I'm not much of a snacker really. A bag of chips will usually go stale around here before they are gone.
