I have to say, I have a close relative that has the worst firearms discipline I've seen in a while. He "swept" me twice with the muzzle showing me his new M&P Shield and then got in some argument with his girlfriend where they were goofing around and grappling for it. In each case he said the classic, "But, its not loaded". I tried educating him but it won't "take" apparently.

I leave anytime he might be handling a weapon now.

I saw something like that years ago at a unsupervised public range. This yahoo was a violator of basic gun laws. He sweep a few people and this one tough x cop said that gun points at me one more time and I will shoot you in self defense.

Things got quiet and the idiot said I'm leaving.. I knew the Xcop he probably would have shot him.

I'm a fanatic about gun safety.....comes from my 'ole Vietnam-era Army weapons training I guess. Some clown shot his trigger finger off to get out of going to Nam when we were on the firing range; I think HE thought it would be like a hangnail. He screamed like a little b!tch until they transported him out of sight - lesson learned.
