Time to call the guy, Frank. Life is too short.

I pulled the battery out of my '61 today....got 8 years out of it, so no complaints. I can tell you, it was a LOT lighter 8 years ago. What a crappy place for a battery. Still able to manhandle it out, with no 'go handle' even.

That's a cakewalk - trust me, the two worst jobs on the 1st gen vettes is a windshield replacement with re-strapping the cables on the windshield washer under dash pulleys being a close second. I'd rather pull an enigne.

I agree. Pulling the engine on my '61 is about a 40 minute deal. Not even tough. Front mount makes it a snap. The ONLY advantage of the damn thing!

I’ve replaced the thermostats and heating elements on my 80-gallon water heater before, but the anode rod was a new challenge. In your case, the fixture on the side above the Energy Guide sticker likely is the anode rod. It's often hidden under a plastic cap and might require some effort to unscrew. Last year, I had a similar issue and ended up needing professional help for some blocked drains and hot water system problems.

A friend recommended a company with expert plumbers who specialize in emergency services. They were fantastic and fixed everything promptly. If you’re interested in learning more about their services, you can find out more information here about pipe relining in Sydney .

It is a hot water heater after it is first turned on.

Is 120 degree water hot? YorN?

If I have it set to 125 I will be heating HOT water.

Each time it kicks on, it is heating HOT water.

If it allowed the water to go back to ambient each cycle, it would be a water heater.

Well it turns out the old tank DID have an anode, and replacing T-stats and heating elements got me buy for another 5 years last time I did it. And as an OBTW they USED to recommend about 120* setting for automatic dishwashers, etc abut now you better read up on the latest. There are certain nasty microbes (like Legionairre's disease) and other gross stuff that doesn't die until 135* and can live in your water heater even at 120*.
