I remember that one being used periodically, but since we used 'fag' without issue, it wasn't necessary. I guarantee the teachers heard us saying it - not a word was said to anyone. Hell, my grade 8 teacher used to say my name incorrectly in front of the whole class because he thought it was funny. It was degrading as hell, and I ****ing hated it, but like a good Gen Xer, I said nothing. Because I didn't want to give him the satisfaction of knowing it bothered me.
