Yeah, they had some good songs, some of which they blatantly stole from other artists, and I did generally enjoy their albums in the late '70s. But for the love of GOD, they are so overplayed!

Then I hear slurpers on the radio saying they are the "best rock 'n' roll band in history", and I feel like puking. ****ing Grand Funk Railroad (among at least a dozen other bands of that era) could out-rock those assholes practically in their sleep, and they get damn near zero air time!

I get it that shit loads of boomers took their first acid trip listening to Led Zeppelin, but they probably matured at least a little in the last 40 years, and should realize by now that it is decades past the time to let go of that nostalgia band!

While I agree with a lot of what you said, overplayed does not equal overrated.

LZ is not the greatest but they’re up there.

“New” country is lame. There is some actual decent rap but you have to go back a ways.

I have always favored country music over all other genres, but try to stay literate beyond my likes.

Growing up in the 80s, mtv was the means for many very average bands to get recognition beyond their talents, as everyone liked cool videos with hot babes, and band members with hair down to the ass.

With that said, there were very few bands that started in the 80s that had more talent than flash, and amazingly some are still around today, playing in wheelchairs at indian casinos.
I know I am critical, but every damn song from each of them sounded the same, just with different lyrics.

I am sure there are exceptions to this, but right now I cannot think of any,,,

I’ll take your word for it. Guy on the right actually has more face tats now than the one on the left, and he has his teeth capped with what appears to be chrome. Nose ring and huge earrings complete the classic C&W singer look.
