At some point, the physicians that she is currently seeing have got to know (based on no definitive diagnosis) that this is above their particular set of skills or specialty. They need to send her someplace better. Maybe the Mayo Clinic or something. I mean, let's be honest, relatively speaking, there aren't many people walking around with completely undiagnosed illnesses. It's astounding to me that they won't just send her someplace that can do what it takes to properly diagnose her.

Coming from the medical field and having to deal with physicians (and their egos) I don't give a shit about hurting feelings. The minute someone told me that they didn't know what was wrong, the next question would be, "Well, who are you sending me to that CAN diagnose me?" Rinse and repeat until you find someone that can. This "we don't know what's wrong" bullshit doesn't fly.

In this day and age of trying to save money (in healthcare), one cannot afford to be passive in their own care. If you don't take responsibility for it, no one else will. The doctor may not like being challenged, as most don't, but feck them. It's my health, not theirs.

My mother went through spats with the Vent. She had something called Rheumatoid Lung. That, and complications from Diabetes and various other crap killed her at 50.
