Just called to cancel. Stupid biotch then tried to sell me turn by turn for onstar. WTF ?? I told them I want an e-mail VERIFYING that data collection is canceled. With that, I can sue the fcuk out of OnStar if anything happens.

Obviously there's an antenna somewhere, even if OnStar is integrated with another subsystem (I don't know if it is or not). Simply disconnect that.

I read something about needing to put a jumper wire between two connections if you want to disconnect OnStar, but want everything else to remain working.

I know where it is. SUPPOSEDLY after disconnecting the data acquisition tracking, I can contact OnStar like normal. Just no onboard data stuff is transmitted.

GM's been pissing me off with this "you don't need NAV when there's OnStar" bullsh*t. They did it with the Camaro, among others.

As far as the antenna, disconnecting that would ensure that nothing can be tracked remotely. One might need to connect a dummy load to prevent issues/codes, though. Not really sure. Don't know about the DAT, either.

You need to read the first paragraph again. IT DOES'NT MATTER if you use OnStar or not-They save your vehicle data.

I think you are referring to EDRs.
Event data recorders are installed on most GM and Ford products.
GM EDRs function independently of OnStar.

Also, you cannot disable EDRs as they are generally part of the supplemental restraint system.

I think they record the last 30 seconds of an event. ( on a loop)

I've heard you can get rid of the bad data if you start the car 200 times.
