Closest I made it was "rolling" with a professional MMA fighter. He was 7-0 and had a belt on the wall. I want to say I held my own...but a professional anything operates on another level. I could tell how much more skilled he was.

Then? I wouldn't go so far as to say "skinny", but I was kind of scrawny. That's why my career ended, when you were in 9th grade, you couldn't play on the JV team any more, had to make varsity or no uniform for you. Like many folks my age, I didn't get a trophy, and got the opportunity to learn to live with disappointment.

Not me by far, but a couple of close acquaintances. My bro-in-law is good friends with Al Iafrate (hardest slap shot in the NHL at one point), and I was buddies with a PBA champ in HS. Oh, and my son went to HS with Danica Patrick. That's about it.
