I’m an hour North of Pittsburgh. I’ve been nosing around and there does seem to be NOS parts available (wheel cylinders, water pump). I restored a 46 Ford dump truck and parts were still available for that believe it or not. This would just be such a cool car to mess around with in retirement. Storage space is my next major hurdle.

Seems too high based on the ones here that sold for less, including a convertible at $18k a couple years ago:

Depending on the last time it ran, that might be high. But, that said, all the parts needed to get it operable---brakes, fuel system, etc, would be $1000 or thereabouts. It would cost 60k to restore a car like this, and it would not be as nice as this one, which has never been degraded. I would think you would be more than safe if you could get it for 20-25k. And you can't go by what these cars sold for 2 years ago. The dollar was worth twice as much then. Look at the prices of ALL cars, new and used, since Biden got into power. There is a saying 'They're only original once', and it applies here. In the hobby there is a Zenith Award for best original car, and this one for sure would be a candidate. They don't make these anymore, and this is as close to 'new' as they come. If you do get it, it MUST be kept inside, though. Outside under a tarp is a NO NO.

I hear you on storing it inside. I tried the “outside under a tarp” when I was younger and it didn’t turn out well at all.
If this is a single-exhaust car, would it be blasphemous to put a good sounding dual exhaust system on it? |

No doubt that GTOguy is the GOTOguy on these cars. His knowledge and expertise in this area is top notch.

Personally, I would like to see cars like this preserved. Not even restored. Just left alone and properly stored and displayed. Next best would be to return to driving condition. Modifying the car, even in reversable ways is a shame, IMO.
