th350 bellhousing to transmount 20 3/8" (w/ 9-1/4" tailshaft housing)

700r4 overall length 30 3/4"

th350 overall length 30 5/8" (w/ 9-1/4" tailshaft housing)

700r4 & th350 can utilize the same trans mount.

Shift linkage interchanges. Standard linkage adjustment will need to be done.

oil coooler lines interchange with some minor bending.

speedo drive gear. But NOT the driven gear.

Since the th350 (w/ 9-1/4" tailshaft housing) is only 1/8" shorter than the 700r4, you should be able to reuse the existing driveshaft and yoke.
I can totally understand why he wouldn't want an overdrive transmission in the T-bucket. they really are not designed for long trips, thus all but negating the need for the OD. You also have to account for the mechanical speedo input which is likely in the car. The TV cable set up can be tricky to adjust as well. You also need a kit for the electrical input required for the lockup. and if you look at a 700, the pan is shifted to the passenger side of the vehicle. it can make for some clearance issues in tight spaces.

DJ, i would check local (non chain types) transmission shops for a 350. if they dont have one, they usually have a good place to look for one.

We have a T350 to use and will rebuild it in the near future. Agree with no need for over drive. I have my MSD box limited at 6K RPM, but even with my 3200rpm stall converter, I rarely get about 1800 RPM unless I am abusing the expensive, go-fast pedal on the right.
