My well, drilled in 2005, is loaded with iron. I lived with it for a few months of orange ice cubes, orange pasta water, and orange sludge lining the toilet tank.

Then I spent some money for a water treatment system and got rid of the iron. No regrets.

Saline Hot Tub.....adjust the temp, use it year round.

I have had two houses with pools.....hate em.....one I installed or had built, and one came with the house..........the last one that came with the house was at the end of its life cycle......so what to do.....fill it in is expensive too.........Wife likes having a pool, so we fix it.......new deck, new plumbing, new this, new that, by the time it was all said and done, I spent as much as a new pool, the only thing we really kept was the damn hole......anyway, yeah those two stage pumps are nice, I like the programmability of them, but I have already had one warranted.......but if you had a pump last 25 years, you are due about 5 of em.......

Our pool is open all year. We do heat it in the Winter.

Just had to replace the booster pump for the Polaris robot last week. The original pump lasted 25 years. I tried replacing the start capacitor, but no dice. Oh well, it was worth the try.

Damn this thing is almost silent! Big change! My pump house is right next to the pool and patio, the old pump was deafening. What a great morning!!

What a fun day yesterday! Had a wonderful time with my grandson, his first time ever in a swimming pool. He loved it! Not afraid for one second. I was so anxiously waiting for this moment, I'll never forget!

Some nice pools in this thread; my granddaughter was diving down 8' to the bottom of our pool at under 2 years old.... Her Dad would go down right beside her, made me nervous as hell. Then at 15 she was a double-certified scuba diver and a sailing instructor at her school at 16. Some of the advantages of living in Florida with water everywhere and its a Yaddie-free zone to boot.
