I gave up my morning 40oz of coffee with a ton of sugar a couple months ago and I am trying to cut down on the cola now...and I don't touch the diet crap. High octane here.
Down to 1 or 2 a day at the most.

I've been going to the gym regularly for about 12 years now, but last year was a tough year for me and I missed more than I should have. This year I will make it more consistent.

I'm thinking hypnosis might work for me but I'd have to start working out first because I'm afraid I'd gain a ton of weight and then get depressed and start smoking again - that would be a REAL heart attack waiting to happen.

My wife gained about 10lbs when she quit smoking.

Beer is tough for me. Holidays = beer, and lots of it. Winter makes it tough as well. When it gets bitterly cold (below 5F) I don't go outside much.

I ran 2.5 miles last week, and it went pretty good. I could definitely tell I'm carrying a little extra weight.

That's a good strategy. It's been pretty easy to come home from work, grab a beer and sit on the couch. I need to cut that out.

We did this last year as a test to see if we could make it 2 weeks.

One thing we learned is that we came up with some really good dishes/recipes that involved no meat. It stirred our creativity, not really doing it to be healthy, although...we did notice we did feel better after the 2 week period was over.

We get too stuck in a routine with food that we have to do these things in order to force us out of the rut.

I need to do more strength stuff. I ride my stationary 15-20 miles each day to build up my bad leg (2 knee replacements in the same freaking leg over the last 2 years) Most of what I do now is flexibility stuff...

We have a facility up at the clubhouse that Mrs. WKMCD hits 5 times a week. I should tag along..

Since I always break them, this year I decided not to make a New Year's Fitness resolution...

I made myself a New Year's Fatness resolution. 500lbs by Christmas 2011!!

Oh, don't worry, if this resolution turns out like all the others I'll start out strong, with the Twinkees and the ice cream, but by the second week of February, my no-will-power havin' enormous ass will have totally forgotten about that and I'll be all over the salads and exercise...

... I believe Wile E. Coyote (Genius) called it Reverse Psychology. All I know is, it sounds just crazy enough to work!!

I started the Insanity workout program in summer 2010, and I'm still doing it (on the third round right now). Insane is a good word for it - it'll kick your ass for sure! I've gotten a far better workout doing this than the 12 miles a day I used to do on the bike. Great results, but you have to push yourself...if you stick with it, you will see the results. Very pleased with this program and will continue to do it as long as I am able to.

The nice part is I can pop this into my DVD player and get a great workout every day at home without having to spend $ on a gym membership or fight traffic to get to a gym.

I have a treadmill and a bowflex. We have an agreement that only certain high interest to each can be recorded on the treadmill DVR. So you have an incentive to use it.

Better not weigh too much, you'll need a hoist to get out of there!
