I raced GP bikes for a lot of years and I've seriously been looking to pickup a Buell to beat around the back roads. I found a couple and was going to go look at them but after further reflection, I finally decided today that my fake knee (second one in the same leg in the last two years + 11 other major knee surgeries) just won't let me ride again...Now I'm depressed...

I rode a 525 XC/W a few weeks ago. It was a monster. To tell you the truth, in the mud and tight trees we have here, I really prefer my little 200 XC/W. The big 4-stroke was probably carrying an extra 40 or 50 lbs. The 2-strokes are difficult in most states to make street legal though. It's funny, when I went into the DMV to get a title, the lady asked me if I wanted a plate too, so I got one, even though the bike is far from street legal. The plate does allow me to ride the National Parks in Utah.

That is porky for a little 250! I think all of the big KTMs are lighter than that. My 200 weighs in at a very svelte 211 lbs.

that is why a 450, 530 or 610 is in my future. The 450 and 530 are lighter and 610 is barely heavier.

I don't think you'd want an R1, then.

Mods (on the R6): Stars , Stomp Grip tank grips, Flush mounts, Yoshimura exhaust - with that was able to get rid of the passenger foot pegs all together since now I have a carbon fiber hanger for the exhaust.

When did you get the R6?

I just got Tank Grips. I'm going to put them on when it get's warmer. Do you have HID's installed? I had them on the F4i, not sure if I want them on the RR yet.

I got it right before Halloween. This bike is SO amazing!

The first time I took my bike out I knew I needed tank grips ASAP. I had them on my FZR but I guess I forgot how much they help! Plus I got Stomp brand this time which seem to be much stickier than the Tech Specs I have on the FZR. Be sure to use a hair dryer to heat up the adhesive before you put them on...plus don't forget to check the instructions for how long you are suppose to let the glue adhere before you ride it.

My bike comes stock with HIDs.

Thanks for the tips. I read a lot of reviews and there are plus's and minus's for each. I decided on the Tech Specs, I bought 2 sheets so i could cut my own. It says it has to be 70 degrees out so i have a bit of waiting to do. I didn't have them on the F4i and I am hoping that the grips will help with my inner thigh muscles to stay in position correctly and with muscle fatigue.

I just got a pair of Sidi Vertigo boots off ebay for $160, I'm super pumped, they have very little wear on them. Going to a huge motorcycle shop tomorrow, I may come out of there with lots of new stuff too.

Yeah, the grips should help. I think it is one of those things (for me anyway) that you don't know you need until you try them and now it seems so hard riding without them. It completely changed my riding position too. I think I would get so tired in both my arms and legs from constantly pushing my butt back after I slid forward everytime I would brake that I started resting closer to the tank more but now my butt goes almost all the way back...and stays there!

Mmmmmm....new gear. I really want a new jacket but it is a ***** to find one I like that fits my figure.

It is a blast. Rides like the fastest, stickiest 4-wheeler ever...no counter-steering. She has done two 5000+ mile trips on her Spyder (Utah and Rapid City), and several weekend trips around the Southeast.

I don't ride it much since she put the bar-backs on it, but it's still great to putt around on. Once we get where we're going, we ride two up on the Can Am to go to dinner and what not.
