I don't think there is a detector that will work for this guy.

Not at all surprising at all that you would be the type to (try to) brag about your "net worth" on a car forum.

Now for bonus points, go ahead and tell us all again about how you spent "six figures" on a car. I promise that everybody here is very impressed.

An F150 ICE starts almost exactly 10K less than the Lightning after the tax credit.

Not the Crew Cab one.. Crew Cab F150 gas starts at just over $40k ($40780).. Sure, single cab is much cheaper.
So, if we are comparing apples to apples, Crew Cab with Crew Cab trucks, they are almost priced the same.

Yes correct.
And the Lightning starts at 50K. That’s right the tax subsidy is 7,500 and that gets the two trucks within a few thousand dollars apart.
Nice when the government has to pay people to buy a private company’s product.
And still no one wants them.

As a consumer, it does no matter why the truck is cheaper. What matters is really what you are paying. I personally like the F150 Lightning. It has a HUUUGE frunk, much bigger than the Cybertruck and the same size bed as the gas version. Not a bad deal at $42k. Sure, it sucks for long distance towing but for my usage pattern, it would actually work fine except for road trips. 240 miles range on the base version isn't really a lot. It would just a truck for regional driving. My wife likes it and would like one but I would prefer to buy her a Model Y instead. Even though she has a little BMW i3 right now, she used to drive my F250 V10 with long bed a while ago, so, she has no problem driving larger vehicles.

BTW, a tax credit is not a subsidy. It's having $7500 less stolen from you for 1 year. You are not taking other people's money. You are having less money taken from you.

And how do you suppose the government makes up for that shortfall in its revenue? By printing borrowing an extra $7500 of course! And who pays back that $7500 that the government borrowed into existence from the Federal Reserve?

How about government stopping to waste our money?

You'll give up driving EVs before that happens.

Can't lie, the guy hellbent on pushing EVs saying this made me chuckle.

The F150 lightning is worthless as a truck other than a grocery getter and an occasional run to Lowes for a couple bags of mulch.

This assumes the taxpayer has at least $7500 in tax due.

That usage pattern was my typical truck use when I had my F150 Supercrew FX2.
Lowes, Home Depot and Landfill were the typical uses. Now, I tow a trailer for those things. Wife wants the F150 to go to the park with the kids and put the kids bikes and hers in the truck bed. Easier than dealing with a bike rack. The range would work for her as the 120 mile range of her i3 worked for her for the last 3 years. It would not be our road trip vehicle. I have the Plaid for that. I would still prefer to get her a Model Y. We will likely settle on one of the 2 by May.. She can probably get $10k for her I3 which brings the cost of the next car down.
The Model Y RWD would be cheaper. At times, Tesla sells in stock Model Y RWD for $39k.
$31500 after tax credit. Less $10k from the i3 = $21k. I probably can save up $21k by mid year, so I could avoid a loan.. Interest rates are too high right now to finance. For the F150, I would probably get a small car loan..
Yes, I understand that the tax credit can't exceed your tax liability.
