This week's cheat meal is 10 McNuggets, and it's got "nether flame sauce" which is actually respectably spicy. On par with Taco Bell's diablo. That reminds me, just saw an ad that Taco Bell now has chicken nuggets, too. Might have to try them.

Here's the thing about McNuggets: They aren't nearly as good without the dipping sauce.

I discovered this very harshly when I went through the drive-through and the bimbo at the window forgot to put my Sweet 'n Sour and BBQ sauces into the bag.

My charting shows I've been losing weight at a rate of 2.51 lbs per week this year. If each lb is supposed to be 3500 cals, that means I'm on an average daily deficit of 1255 calories. That's like cutting out 28 chicken mcnuggets per day. Or 3 quarter pounders. Or 8 lbs of broccoli.

The best, easiest way to lose weight, and not half-starve yourself, is to ditch the carbs. You don't have to bother watching and counting calories; they're not really relevant. What matters is not HOW MUCH you eat, it's WHAT you eat.

Dietary carbs boost blood sugar, which triggers insulin. Insulin is a fat-storage hormone. After years of eating high carb meals, our cells become insulin resistant and the cells won't take any more. So the glucose stays in our blood causing damage to every capillary/artery in our bods. No or low carbs keeps most of that at rest.

What are high in carbs? Avoid anything made from grain including white or whole wheat bread, white or brown rice, pasta, cereal, corn, white or sweet potatoes, soda pop, most fruit and fruit juices, baked goods, muffins, candy.

Eat fatty meat, eggs, and low-carb veggies instead. And no, saturated fat doesn't make you fat (the opposite actually) nor does it clog your arteries -- all that is a myth. Protein and fat are essential nutrients, carbs are not.

Yeah, the calorie cut was easy with being on keto since it rules out quite a lot of stuff I used to eat like white rice, pasta, potatoes, and normal pizza. I don't really count calories, I try to hit enough protein as my first priority since I lift weights and want to make sure my weight loss is fat and not from muscle loss.
