Looks like it's unanimous. Waiting for a money transfer from Gary and we'll get it ordered.

Gary should be receiving my money order soon.
I paid for a barn stall and extra to put toward Steve's brick or bench. |

Do we know the numbers?
Are we that far off from a bench? |

Yeah, we are. About $2500. And based on the fact that you thanked me for my idea, it sounded to me like you were ok with it.
Thanks for that...but I think everyone knows what Irish Mac's bench looks like. No offense intended to Pervey because we all loved him...but to be real honest about it, we can't get a bench everytime someone dies. Bill's circumstances were a bit different, and collections were taken from CF, which has a much larger group to collect from. If you want to draw this out for another year, we may get there. If not, a large brick is the best we're gonna do at this point. And I think it's a damn nice gesture as it is...seems most everyone else agrees. However, Alan, since you started this thread, I'll make it your call. Just post up what you'd like to do. |

I've never been to the NCM, so I'm not familiar with the brick/bench setup. Is this what a big brick looks like...
Are these on the sidewalk in front of the museum? |

I agree that a brick this year is the way to go.

The first benches went to a place by the Museum entrance, but that area is pretty much full now...
It seems current benches end up around the outside... Bricks by the entrance, a fair number of which are memorial bricks... But those are spreading around the outside too... In my opinion, a brick would fit in better. They're already running out of space for benches, and the number of those they have now looks cluttered already. Bricks look better the way they have them now (although they are running out of prime spaces, there's lots of new sidewalk and new brick spaces resulting from the recent expansion). I think the big brick would be fine. Last edited by JMS32935; 03-05-2012 at 12:31pm. Reason: words |

If all we can raise is funds for a large brick, then let's proceed with that. There is a lot of "virgin" walkway where the brick can be place so it doesn't get lost. |

Just in case the posts in the other, non-sticky thread were missed, I got a payoff number out of Megan and the brick is now paid in full. I got the impression that to make the BRII unveiling she will need the artwork pretty soon. Proactively, whomever has that should probably call her.
