Default Went drag racing on Thursday...

there were very few cars at the track.. Only made 2 runs and went home..

First run against a 14 second Audi A4 and 2nd run against a 17 second Volkswagen..
60' times were below my normal 60' times on both runs (I usually run 1.57 to 1.59 60' times), so, my runs were only in the high 9.80's. Could have been a new best on my 2nd run had I been at about 1.57 60' time instead of 1.63. Not sure why I'm having trouble getting my 60' times back where they used to be..
Track seemed very sticky and I didn't hear any tire spin. All other numbers were as expected, just the 60' time was below my normal.

I tried to cut a good light. Right now, I'm just around one tenth of a second on average.. I want to get it down to the .05 range which was about what I averaged with my Vettes back in the day.

Anyone can drag race but not anyone can cut good lights. Racing any automatic vehicle is equally as easy. The only time you need more skill if you are racing a stick shift car. All modern cars have launch control.. Taking a C8 down the drag strip is not more difficult than taking a Tesla down the Drag Strip. I have raced 6 different Vettes down the 1/4 mile, including 3 stick shift Vettes..

I have news for you. You're not fine wine you're not getting better with age.

Reaction time is not just about actual reaction time but about a consistent and repetitive staging routine. You need to be able to stage your car at the same spot over and over again. It took me a lot of practice to launch my different Vettes consistently below 0.10 seconds. I was racing every other weekend.. Now, I'm racing every other month. Not enough practice. They are starting a EV bracket racing event at an 1/8 mile track 50 miles from me.. I may participate one of those weeks. Most of those racers are not pro's and I'd have a decent chance of winning.

Except a Tesla has electronic controllers that can vector power management so all you need to do is stab the pedal and let the computer do all the work.

Maybe when you can play competitive Esports like I do where a millisecond reaction time is the difference between winning and losing I'll be impressed

At least GSC3 is in an actual driver's seat at the track, not some fkn video game.

A seat in an EV, but a seat nonetheless...

Any modern gasoline vehicle has electronic stability control and traction control.
ALL modern cars are computer controlled. Yes, electric motors are somewhat easier to control than gas ones but the technology exists regardless of what powers your vehicle.

BUT I'm using FSR (full self racing) where the car stages itself and reads the tree and launches by itself

Question for you.. I just remembered that about 22 years ago, I sold my wrecked 1980 Duntov Turbo Vette #4 or 32 to a Ebay user with the username GixxerBill.. Coincidence?

Your way would be down not up.

It looks like you’re driving on the freeway. Meh.

you are right.. down here... There is a difference between driving fast and accelerating 0 to 150 in about 10 seconds.. Have you ever felt the acceleration of a 9 second car?

Not something that I’m interested in. I went to the drag races when my BIL raced his 66 Chevelle. I went a few times it was ok. The top fuel and funny cars were the coolest. And while the speed was the goal, most of the cool when you’re a 13 year old was the sound and fire from the exhaust.
