I've owned 2 V-Wagons.

The red was a 2011 auto with Recaro. The black was an absolute unicorn. 2014 M6 with sunroof delete, Recaros, etc. It was 1 of 1 with that configuration (3 others were the same with red calipers instead of yellow).

I do not. I sold it for a hefty profit.

Ironically enough, the reason that I sold it was when the kids came along it was absolutely terrible as a wagon. I couldn't fit the car seats in it. Now that they're out of car seats it would be good, but at the time it was awful.

Those are both V models. V3. I don't dislike the V2, but I like the look of the V3 more.

I like all Vs, except when they bastardized and call one the V-series.

I owned a 2005, modded it to death, LS1 383, glass jaw rearend from the stock CTS.

Still own my V2, 1,000HP, man pedal, will never sell, almost looks new.

I will add another oneday, prefer the Blackwing vs. V3, as the V3 is a bigger car than I want.

I'm not too worried about that mileage on a Viper. Definitely not worried about it on a Porsche or the Audi. How well do the McLarens react to that type of use?
This whole mileage thing gets so blown out of proportions. 1970s/1980s/1990s exotics were shitboxes and where I feel this stereotype gets put in place. Anything modern can be driven. It's just a car. I had over 40,000 miles on a Ferrari F12. I put 36,000 miles on an R8 V10 Plus. I now have almost 22,000 miles on a 720S. Guess what, they're all fine. EDIT: As for costs, buy one already mileage depreciated. I got within $20,000 of what I paid for the R8 to put all that mileage on it. I made money driving the Ferrari for a year. I'll probably lose some on the McLaren but I bought one with 18,000 miles on it already so the "fear" of the miles had it priced $35,000 to $40,000 under comparables at the time I bought it. Point being you can get some good deals on exotics.

Go drive a McLaren. Then come back in this thread. They drive incredible. Straight line is bonkers but the handling is one of the best along with steering feedback. Everyone raves about a GT3RS and all things Porsche but when you're ready to put on big boy pants the McLaren delivers. It's faster, lighter, and more agile. Better looks and like a proper exotic the doors go up.

So the Lamborghini Huracan / Audi R8 V10 Plus / C6 ZR1 / and the slew of other crap being brought up here all run roughly 10s to low 11s in the upper 120s to lower 130s. Let me show you what different league McLaren is in straight line power. For RWD it puts down power surprisingly well.

Stock 650S those other cars aren't trapping 137 MPH. Here's some fun clips of a 650S from DragTimes back in the day.

650S against an Aventador even from a dig with it only being RWD can run it down

Here's a Gen 5 Viper...see ya lol

Oh for fun here's what both a 650S and a 720S can do to a Huracan...I tell you it's boost by gear and man 3rd and then 4th pins you like no other stock car can do the 720S I have is insane.

650S

720S

Live in a state where the replacement windshield is free lol. Just for perspective friend had a windshield replaced on a 570S it was around $3,000 I think. My Ferrari F12 that was $8,400 lol. $0 deductible

I’ve always loved Audi but I’ve been afraid of the repair bill on the high-end RS cars.

The RS7s are just awesome.

Own a 2018 RS7 Performance (not Prestige) since 2019. We've had zero issues. It's been out of warranty for a bit and I tuned it when it was still under warranty (so voided the powertrain). Two baby seats strapped in it. It has been on several road trips. It's fine. I swear some of you (and the majority of the people who don't dabble in these cars but read and hear shit spewed online) just keep brewing all these stereotypes.

There's lemons made by everyone. GM, Audi, McLaren, all of them. Anything made within the past 10 years is going to be reliable unless you went and bought the cheapest one on the market because you were poor and stretched your budget and now wonder why the car is having issues. Go get a solid one, get a PPI, and go drive and enjoy. Here's mine with wow...didn't realize it until just now 41,000 views lol.

I have had the fortune of knowing multiple people stupid enough to let me drive theirs... on race tracks. Although I've never really considered owning one, I do fully understand and appreciate the capabilities of them.

I've lived most of my adult life in the world of 6 second dragsters. Street cars drag racing has never done anything for me whatsoever. I've never bought a street car because of how it compared to what someone else has. If I wanted to go drag racing, I'd go buy a cheap rail car and go racing. Actual racing. Not test and tune and sure as shit not on a street. Same goes for the road course side of things. If I wanted to go road race, I'd buy a TA2 car and go racing.

I don't want a Viper because of the 1/4 mile time. Same for the RS6. I don't want a GT3RS because of it's time round the Ring (and certainly not because of how fast it is in a straight line). It's all about the feel, the looks, the personality, the experience.

I do like the McLarens and have certainly started lookin into them a bit on the recommendation of this thread, but how they compare to other things driving in a straight line is exactly 0% important to me.

Someone needs to put the crack pipe down.

Here’s another vote for the Avant! Love the wagons. I was going to recommend a GR Corolla but once I saw you were open to more expensive cars I decided against it haha.

I just priced the one I want... and it came out to $149,540.00.

I love them.

I'm not entirely sure I $150k love them.

No youngsters here, so my fun car taste runs a bit to classic 2 seat Brits...
have long sought an inexpensive Triumph TR250... love the TR4 bodywork, but the straight six with overdrive makes it capable at speed.
Failing that, a 1969 TR6 would suffice. Not hard to enter/exit, the top goes down and the styling is timeless.

How about a Nissan GT-R? It’s classified as a 2+2; no idea what the back seat actually looks like. Performance is pretty good.

GTR’s are video game cars. They are that good. But, they feel like video game cars as well. No real butt feel. Hard assed acceleration and turns when you want. But mind numbingingly numb.

The 720S does more for me than the speed but man if you're spoiled with that type of acceleration sort of like I am with feeling the Plaid on a daily basis versus a few times here and there on a track you definitely are looking for a car that can do more than just go fast in a straight line. However, the car can't be slow and after driving a Plaid daily anything short of a 720S just feels slow to me in terms of acceleration.

I am looking for a car that I want to get in and drive when I walk out to the garage.

It's a combination of feel, looks, personality, and the overall experience.

Like I said, if I want to race, I'll go actually race (as I have done my entire life). I ride around on 200+ horsepower motorcycles that weigh 300 pounds. I've been in and around 6 second, 200++ trap speed cars for my whole life. The acceleration of any street car (including the Tesla) feels like a Geo by comparison. I'm 0% concerned about status or what other people think of my cars. Outside of a track of course, I don't care if someone is faster.

I don't care how fast it is if it looks like a bag of ass. I don't care how good it looks if it's not a fun drive. Sound, steering feel, brakes... all a part of it. It has to be reliable to a fairly decent level. It has to get me back and forth to work a couple of times a week. If I want to hop in and take a few hundred mile trip on a random weekend, I don't want to wonder if it will make it.

And I'd like to be able to put my kids in it, even if I have to stuff them in tiny seats.

As for the budget, it's somewhat flexible. It doesn't HAVE to be expensive. I could swing the RS6 if I wanted but that's a bit more than I was hoping to spend on what is essentially a part time driver. I will absolutely be putting miles on it and generally speaking, the more it costs, the more miles are going to kill the value.

Short version, I'll know it when I see it.
