A guy who was in the group I used to ride bicycles with was a big strong dude who was, let's just say, remarkably physically capable. If you asked him if he was in the military, he would say that yes, he was in the US Navy. I got to know him better some years later, and he confirmed for me the rumor that had been going around was true, he was a SEAL.

Had a Detachment on our ship. Spent most of their time in the EOD hootch and in the gym. While I was in the gym, one guy showed up, did a basic stretch and then hopped up on the pull up bar-did 70 pull ups. They have a better than you arrogance. Don’t blame them.

I was in the Army Security Agency; acronym was ASA and we told gals we were trying to score with that we were really Airborne Shock Assault an off-the-books, spec ops, elite team. My one foray into "stolen valor"...

Never got me laid but got a pal a hummer once....

My BIL was a career Navy submariner officer. Spent most of his time on fast attack boats. He was on several missions where they deployed SEAL teams. His only comment was “They are different”
