Growing up, my mother kept reminding me I was not so go clean your room.

Grew up in a traditional household with a stay at home mom who kept the house neat as a pin. My sisters did most of the assistance. I did trash duty and lawn/pool/snow shovel work.

The kitchen was mom’s paradise. I hardly remember a day when there wasn’t something on the stove or in the oven. She’d be down there getting her sauce going on Sunday morning before church.

Our house had a constant aroma of Italian sausage and sauces and homemade bread and baked desserts.
Looking back it really was a wonderful time.

Those are good ol days. My wife is a bit of a home cooker. Likes to try new recipes and such.

As far as cleanliness, my son does not like clutter in his home to this day at 40. I like to believe his turning point was when he was in college, and I took his car away for 2 weeks because it was full of garbage when I went to put gas in it.

I keep a very clean car inside and out.

I go in and out of the garage door from the kitchen regularly which has a heavy duty self-closing spring. So I get "don't slam the door!" Or with added technology, my cell rings and my wife is upstairs yelling at me over the phone
