Today's Conservative has more in common with traditional Liberal values than any Democrat I can think of while today's Democrat has more in common with traditional Marxist values.

I would like to see some backup for the bolded claim.

Today's liberals, in the US anyway, show no interest in this concept at all. They are all about beating down those from demographics they don't like, most especially white heterosexual males who have skills and/or education so that they make good livings and do not need the government to help support them.
