Good morning all.

I want to say this past month been very interesting for me. I decided it was time to go off my medications for PTSD from a few combat deployments. I have been taking some form of medication, usually SSRI's, for PTSD since 2009. I wanted to see how I would feel coming off of them so I've been tapering down and took my last dose almost 2 weeks ago.

These past couple weeks have been such an amazing feeling. I am experiencing emotions on an entirely new level that I forgot about. Typically I would be very muted with any emotion, happiness, anger, sadness, etc. But now I feel like someone I haven't seen in 15 years. It's ****ing great!

I was taking these meds mostly to help with severe anger that I would experience. I have been very cognizant of my feelings and writing down how I feel every couple days to make sure I don't spiral. I've gotten mad at dumb shit, like most people, but it's controllable and I'm able to calm myself like a normal person.

I have more energy, my sex drive is back, I'm hopeful for things again. I've been keeping my MH provider up to speed on everything and going to Whole Health classes that focus on mindfulness, which I think is also very important.

Sorry for such a long post but I thought this would be a good outlet to express myself lol.

TL/DR - I'm off meds and hoping I don't go crazy.
